New players and Chinese at training day

Earlier today the ADO squad took part in their first training session of the season in the Zuiderpark. A much smaller crowd than usual, estimated around 70 ish.

Fans came with flares to welcome the players onto pitch, the new players were given a good reception, and the recent news of possible Chinese investment in the club saw some Asian related stuff on show.

A good atmosphere amongst the fans was appreciated by the players who later happily signed autographs and posed for photos.

First training today

This afternoon at 14:30 in Zuiderpark,  ADO Den Haag have their first training session at the Aftrap, next to where the old stadium used to be.

Traditionally this is an event where fans gather in number to welcome players, old and new, usually this is accompanied with smoke bombs and fireworks. So if you are free, go along and watch, always a nice atmosphere.

ADO’s Reaction to news of possible share sale

This afternoon media reports appeared about a possible sale of the shares of ADO Den Haag. For now the only response ADO Den Haag can provide is the following:
ADO Den Haag has taken note of the intention of its major shareholder (SSO Foundation Stadium Development) to sell shares held by it to a foreign party: ADO Den Haag awaits further information on the matter before it can give any response. The Hague has always had the desire to broaden the shareholder base and a regional anchoring center. Additionally, organizational stability and long-term continuity in terms of finances is essential.

We will keep you informed of further developments in this field.

New investor for ADO Den Haag

This information came direct to me from a press release made by Mark van der Kallen

The Stadium Development Foundation (SSO), a major shareholder of ADO, announces that the Chinese football and sports company United Vansen International Sports Co have reached an agreement in principle on the acquisition of its shares in NV ADO Den Haag. The new investor is interested in further growth of ADO Den Haag financially and organizationally possible In the context of the Stadium Development Foundation and its directors Mark van der Kallen and Paul Beyer Bergen where approached and finally became willing to sell the shares ADO Den Haag.

The club was only six years ago on the edge of the abyss, both financially and sportingly. After major policy adjustments ADO Den Haag in recent years has becoming increasingly profitable and ranked higher in the Category 2 of financial league by the KNVB than some so called bigger clubs. Sales rose in that period from 7 to 15 million euros and takes the club into 8th position in the Netherlands. Since promotion in 2008, the club plays at the highest level, and three times finished in the top half of the League and also achieved European football.

Now an agreement ihas been reached in principle, is now time for the details of the transaction to be worked out. For the next one to two months until the time of the acquisition of ADO Den Haag is formally 100% complete, the Stadium Development Foundation and the new owner United Vansen will not make any official statements about the transaction or about the price United Vansen International Sports Co.. paid for the shares.

New ADO kits revealed

On Tuesday, In the ADO  changing room of the Kyocera Stadium,Vito Wormgoor and Danny Baker today presentedy the new home and away kit for the 2014-2015 season. Both ADO kits were drawn up in consultation with the various supporters groups including those from the MFC and staff at ADO Den Haag.

The home kit is obviously again in the traditional yellow-green stripes and again a collar has been opted for..

The away kit is especially chosen to show nostalgia and history of the club following on from the final farewell to the Zuiderpark stadium last year. ADO Den Haag plays next season in an away kit that was familiar in the 70’s and the clubs major successes. During those years big European games against the likes of West ham United Think include the European Cup matches against West Ham United and winning the Asian Cup on the 15th May, 1975. It is a white shirt and in the middle there are stripes of yellow, red and green..

On the inside of the away shirt is a picture showing the line up of players from when ADO appeared in the KNVB Cup.. In this picture are club icons Aad Mansveld, Aad Kila, Lex Shoemaker, Henk van Leeuwen and Leo the Caluwé.

Both kits are on sale from Wednesday 25th June at 12:00 from the official Fanshop at the Kyocera Stadium and from the other usual outlets in and around The Hague..
