Payment for ADO shares has been made by United Vansen

Current ADO Den Haag owner Mark van der Kallen yesterday confirmed that United Vansen, the new owners of the club, has fulfilled its obligations. Both parties can now complete the official transfer of the shares, which will be concluded shortly.

In China, director Maarten Fontein completed the final formalities regulated by Wang Hui, owner of United Vansen. Together they were in cooperation with the most prestigious school in Beijing, the school where the Chinese president was educated. This school will implement the philosophy of the ADO Den Haag Youth Academy and coaches from The Hague will go to that school to train local coaches. A great start to the collaboration between ADO Den Haag and United Vansen.

Maarten Fontein said ADO Den Haag is delighted that the transfer of shares may now take place and we can begin a new phase in our history. At a good time, just before our 110th anniversary. We as a club are very grateful to Mark van der Kallen for the last seven years in which he again put ADO Den Haag back on the map.

In late January, the last formalities will be settled at a special meeting of shareholders as previously announced

ADO ladies win in style against sc Heerenveen

ADO ladies played their first home game of 2015 in a freezing cold Kyocera stadium and got a result that left the fans feeling happy.

ADO started with pace, passion and drive from the first whistle. This they did for the entire ninety minutes. The visitors soon realising they were in for a very long night in temperatures below zero.

ADO took the lead in the second minute. The ball was put forward and the Heerenveen defence got in a mess, the ball fell to Tessa Oudejans who kept her cool and placed the ball with ease into the back of the net, giving their keeper Nienke Olthof no chance, 1-0.

ADO’s midfielders and forwards dominated possession. Lineth Beerensteyn was creating havoc down the wings, cutting inside, having shots and creating chances for others, a fine display from this most special of talents. You had to feel sorry for the ADO defenders and goalkeeper who had nothing really to do but watch the action as they froze.

ADO extended their lead deservedly in the twenty second minute. Renate Jansen collected the ball wide on the left. Her control beat the defenders near and curled in a beautiful shot beyond the reach of Olthof, 2-0.

After the second goal, you could see the heads drop of the Heerenveen players. The home side continued to press and had chance after chance to go further in front. On another night they would have been six goals to the good, but they had to wait until the forty third minute to get another. Action in the penalty again saw Heerenveen all over the place, Oudejans again alert to what was going on and was able to steer a loose ball into the net, 3-0.

ADO started the second half as they had the first, straight in on goal, best chance falling to Franca van de Kuilen who raced forward, kept her nerve as she rounded the keeper, sadly the angle became too tight and the shot hit the side netting. Paola van der Veen moved more forward adding to the pressure, forcing the Heerenveen further back. Yet the visitors got a chance and took it. In the fifty third minute Tiny Hoekstra got the ball and faced up to Jennifer Vruegdenhil in the ADO goal and slipped the ball into the net, 3-1.

The game was totally one sided. Yet another goal did not arrive until the eighty fourth minute. A ball forward to substitute Michelle Vrieling was weighted to perfection. Vrieling looked up, saw the keeper off her line and hit the perfect lob from distance up and over Olthof into the back of the net, stunning goal, 4-1.

ADO did not rest, they continued to look for more goal, alas no more came. It was an easy victory for the ADO ladies, a great confidence builder for next week’s top clash against Standard Liege.

ADO player of the match: Tessa Oudejans, two goals and a solid midfield display.

ADO’s Midden Noord tribute to Kaja

On Saturday night ADO Den Haag played at home to Cambuur Leeuwarden. This was the first game following the untimely and sudden death of Kaja, a staunch follwer of the club and well know on the centre of north side stand, known as the Midden Noord.

The fans, together with the club arranged a spectacular send off for Kaja. Music, singing, a huge banner accompanied by fireworks. The fans from Cambuur totally respected what was going on and joined in the tribute. It was very emotional, many tear flowed during the farewell. ADO fans should be very proud of themselves, they are A REAL FAMILY!
