Shock departures and a return for ADO ladies

It has been announced, that with immediate effect, four of ADO ladies’ first team players have decided to quit the club. The reason being given is that the future visions of the club do not coincide with those of the players.

Kitty Susan being the biggest shock of all, a very popular lady with a great talent. The others who are leaving are Tula de Wit, Judith Frijlink and Daphne in ‘t Veld. Tula is another surprise as she has been playing well. THe other two are new this season. It is a shame to see them leave as ADO ladies are getting to the level they were at when winning league and cups. I wish them all the very best in the future.

In other more positive news. International Kim Dolstra (26) returns to ADO ladies. She played in 2013-2014 for the team. In April 2014 she got seriously injured. Lately she has been training with the squad, under the guidence of manager Marcel Valk and is now available again for all games.

ADO v Zwolle almost a sell out

Tickets for ADO Den Haag’s home game against PEC Zwolle this coming Satuday evening are selling well. Tickets in the family stand (Lex Schoenmaker) and behind the other goal (Aad Mansveldtribune) are sold out. The only public stand tickets are available are in areas M, N and O, on the long side, but these are too selling fast.

There are tickets in the main stand still available. So be quick or you could miss out on a great night of footballing entertainment.

ADO games this weekend

This weekend’s fixtures start on Friday evening when the ADOladies team travel to Belgium to face Oud Heverlee Leuven in the BeNe league competition. ADO ladies are currently on a good run of form and are confident of bringing back the three points to The Hague.

The men are again at home, after last Saturday’s thrilling win over NAC Breda, the mood in the squad is bouyant. This time they face PEC Zwolle as ADO attempt to get themselves clear of the relegation dog fight. A club card is not needed for this game, so you can turn up with your photo ID and buy a ticket on the night. Come along and support your local team.

The wedding or Royd & Willie

Most people who visit this site will be aware of Royd Leeman, the 24 year old ADO supporter who was given a month to live due to cancer. I am not the soft soppy sort, but after having the pleasure and honour of meeting both him and his beautiful wife Willie, I was moved deeply.

A braver man I have never met, he is a true inspiration, to everyone who knows him. It’s been a hard time for them both, but already they have fitted in so much, private planes, Ferrari high speed drives, still attending his beloved FC Den Haag and hopefully still much more to do.

Below is a beautiful video of their wedding, it hits hard on their situation, but they are making the very best of it, love conquers all, they are a wonderful couple surrounded by a great family and have the support of thousands at ADO. This film will move you, so please watch it.

Wishing Royd and Willie all the very best, you are truly amazing!

On Sunday 15th March at 12:30. ADO Den Haag will play at home in the Kyocera stadium against Heracles Almelo. ADO for Expats has joined together with ADO Den Haag to put together a trip to this game for the expat community of The Hague. I am always getting emails asking me I know of other expats who go to games, as they dpon’t want to go alone. So now you have a chance to meet many other expats for a game to watch our local team.

The idea is to all meet up at the Boterwaag cafe in Grote Markt or Fiddlers, get to meet each other, the tickets will be handed out there. We can share a drink, talk football, before we travel by tram to Forepark and the ten minute walk to the stadium. After hopefully watching a great game,  we can travel back to the city to share a drink and talk about the game.

We need a minimum number of 15 people to make this happen. Last time we got 54.

It has been decided that this offer is only open to foreign nationals.

ADO Den Haag has a strict security policy, which makes it the safest stadium in Europe. Read HERE for more details. so you will need to provide copies of your international ID, such as passport or driving license at the time of payment.

Payment before 7th March.

Once paid for, there is no refund possible, this is a group deal and is the same as buying tickets from the club itself.

Tickets can only be collected from the Boterwaag or Fiddlers on the day of the game between 10,00 and 11.00, no special deliveries or arrangements will be made. Tickets handed over once matching your ID to that sent when paying. No exchanges to anybody else is possible. Only those that apply originally will be handed the tickets.

ADO ladies through to 1/4 finals of the cup

This afternoon ADO ladies went through to the 1/4 finals of the KNVB Beker (Cup) beating Amsterdam based side Wartbugia 0-4.

ADO ladies were 0-1 up at half time thanks to Michelle Vrieling. The second half saw ADO get another three goals, scord by Tessa Oudejans, Renate Jansen and Franca van de Kuilen. A good win and now to wait for the 1/4 draw, hopefully ADO ladies will be drawn at home.
