The old Zuiderpark stadium opened 90 years ago on 18th October

On Sunday October 18th it will be exactly 90 years since alderman Drooglever Fortuyn opened the Zuiderpark Stadium. There is currently a beautifully made book of 228 pages available which documents its history, a lasting reminder of the Zuiderpark.

In the Lex Shoemaker family stand there are a lot of parents with their children, children who have never been in the Zuiderpark Stadium. The book “Herinnering aan het Zuiderparkstadion” (Memories of the Zuiderpark stadium) which was created by supporters is also a good book for the children to see what the Zuiderpark Stadium looked like and what all happened there. For the parents and grandparents, it’s a beautiful reminder, full of never-before-published photos and stories to reminisce about how it used to be.

With the festive season fast approaching “Memories of the Zuiderpark Stadium” is a particularly suitable gift for anyone who wants to know more about the past of ADO / FC Den Haag.

The book costs only € 12.88 and all the proceeds from the book will go to a lasting memory in the Zuiderpark of the old Stadium and also go to the  youth academy of ADO Den Haag!

Here is also a Facebook page of the book where you can find more information

ADO this weekend

After the international break, a very disappointing one for the Dutch, ADO Den Haag are back in action on Sunday. Results have not been going well, there have been fan protests and uncertainty around the club. THe keeper Martin Hansen has said he understands the fans feelings and hopes to see support. As a result of his comments we can expect a loud and vibrant atmosphere in the stadium as fans have decided to reignite the actions of BRING BACK THE PASSION!

So bring your scarves and your singing voices and back the team to victory. A club card is not needed, just go to the ticket office with some form of photo ID such as driving license or passport to get your tickets, each individual person needs a photo ID.

The ADO ladies team are back in action for their second away game in a row. Like the mens team they are going through a bad run of forSo they too will be looking for a change of fortune.

ADO’s keeper wants the passion back

ADO’s goal keeping cult hero Martin Hansen has made it clear he is disappointed with the team’s performances of late and understands the frustrations of the supporters. He has made a plea for fans to get behind the team and help support him and his team mates at the next game at home to De Graafschap on Sunday 18th October.

The supporters groups have now made it clear that getting behind the players is most important. The demonstartion at the last home game when they stayed away for the first twelve minutes didn’t have the desired effect.

So now it has been decided to start up again with the BRING BACK THE PASSION actions. It worked at the end of last season, now it’s time to start again. Really support the team, lots of noise and colour, create an excellent atmosphere to get behind the players. They want to do this not only at home games, but at the away games too.

So please next home game, bring your colours and your singing voices, SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TEAM!!!

ADO ladies lose at Telstar

The second half saw Telstar extend their lead in the fifty second minute after a goal by Carli Luntz. ADO finished the scoring in the seventy first minute when Lineth Beerensteyn made it 3-2.

ADO ladies team: Jennifer Vreugdenhil; Yvette van der Veen (70. Sharona Tieleman), Hélène Heemskerk ©, Jessie van Leeuwen (46. Mijke Roelfsema), Priscilla Mesker; Dominique Bruinenberg, Nadine Noordam, Michelle Vrieling; Lineth Beerensteyn, Dominique Vugts (60. Maartje Looijen), Pia Rijsdijk

ADO ladies in action on Friday

Due to the international break, the men of ADO Den Haag have the weekend off. So it is the ADO ladies that take the main stage.

They travel away to take on Telstar at the TATA Steel stadium on Friday night, kick-off 19:30. The ladies will be looking to get their second win of the season.

ADO win friendly

Today ADO Den Haag beat FC Volendam in a friendly match played at the Kyocera stadium.

The final score being 2-1. Goals from Mike Havenaar after twenty six minutes and another by Roland Alberg scored in the seventy fifth minute. Sadly a clean sheet was not kept as in the final minute the visitors pulled a goal back thanks to Nick Runderkamp.

The best news for ADO was the return to action for fifteen minutes of Mathias Gerht, his first appearance since March 15th due to a lingering back injury.

ADO next play again on Sunday 18th October at home to De Graafschap, a club card is not needed for this game.
