Mattijs Manders is interim director ADO Den Haag

Mattijs Manders has been appointed as the interim director of ADO Den Haag. He succeeds Jan Willem Wigt, who last Tuesday was sacked by the major shareholder United Vansen (UVS).

The Supervisory Board, headed by Chairman Mr. Wang Hui, asked Mattijs Manders to take on temporarily all relevant executive powers at board level. With the appointment of Manders ADO Den Haag fills the gap that has arisen following the departure of Jan Willem Wigt. Manders will continue to serve as a Director on an interim basis until such time as there is a formal appointment of a new full-time General Manager. Manders has the mandate to establish a budget in the short term with the major shareholder UVS for the upcoming football season.

Manders: “ADO Den Haag with United Vansen have embarked on a right path. Unfortunately, this road also has bumps, but it is up to us, ADO Den Haag, to eliminate these bumps as soon as possible. A lot has happened. The club now works with a higher budget than in the time that I left ADO Den Haag. That was the successful year of 2011, in which we even played in Europa League. The higher budget is perfect for the entire organization of ADO Den Haag and here I want to especially thank Jan Willem Wigt. In a sometimes difficult period, he has the club at heart, made every effort to keep the peace and to achieve the objectives. As for my appointment as Interim CEO, I will do everything with pride, with everyone at ADO Den Haag who has a soft spot for the club, so let the next period be successful in all respects.”

Mr. Wang Hui, “The changes we had to make to the management were unfortunately unavoidable. We think we can make a big step with these changes in the development process. UVS continues to create a successful plan for the long term for ADO Den Haag. Stability and development are the priorities for the club in the next decade. ADO Den Haag will always be able to count on the support of UVS.”

Manders appointment sees him return to the Kyocera Stadium. From April to September 2011 he was active as Managing Director of ADO Den Haag. In recent years Manders worked as a trader / investor.
