Beerensteyn leaves ADO ladies

It has been announced that one of ADO ladies all time star players will be leaving the club. Lineth Beerensteyn is looking for a new challenge and will next season be playing for FC Twente, as she looks to boost her chances of International football.

Beerensteyn joined ADO ladies as a 15 year old and has played 101 games for the team. She has always had the great habit of scoring important goals. In ADO’s last two cup winning victories she has scored the vital goals. So ending her ADO stay with the cup winning goal is a very fitting way to say farewel.

Lineth said “After four years I’m going to leave ADO ladies and that I regret. I have always played with a lot of fun and I have closed my last fantastic season in The Hague by winning the KNVB Cup. From next season, I’m on a challenge with a different club and in a different environment. I hope to learn a lot there.”

ADO ladies WIN the Cup!!!!!!

The 2015/2016 season ended in joyous glory for ADO Den Haag ladies as they beat Ajax ladies 1-0 in their own Kyocera stadium on Saturday evening.

The atmosphere was intense as the huge rivals met. The noise and colour that greeted the players as they entered the field of play was great. The obligatory pre match photos and on to the action.

The first half was not the greatest advert for ladies football, chances were very few and far between. The home side had the edge, but the Ajax had their defence well organised and knew where the danger would come from, ADO’s flanks. ADO managed a couple of efforts on goal, but nothing really threatened to break the dead lock. For a short period ADO’s keeper Jennifer Vreugdenhil had a bit of a wobble, twice fumbling the ball that could have been costly, but her defence were always alert.

As half time approached ADO broke forward. From the keeper a swift attack of quick direct passing took ADO towards the halfway line. A stunning long cross field diagonal ball found Pia Rijsdijk. Her strength won her the ball. She then twisted and turned, leaving three Ajax defender on their backsides. Calmly she looked up, saw Lineth Beerensteyn was free. The forward calmly stroked the ball into the back of the net in the fourty third minute. Great move, great goal, 1-0.

The second half was better viewing. As the half progressed ADO put more and more pressure on the visitors defence. They feared Beerensteyn who was running ragged the tough uncompromising Ajax defender Daphne Koster. So much so her sporting side went awry and she tried to bully the ADO striker. It did not work and after one challenge too many Beerensteyn reacted angrily, the referee did well to calm it down. After that the game was basically over.

ADO had a few more chances to kill the game off, Kirsten Koopmans was only prevented from making it 2-0 due to a stunning reaction save by Eli Sarasola.

The substitute bench was getting nervous as the seconds counted down. At the final whistle the place erupted. Euphoria gripped the ADO ladies, tears were shared openly as emotions broke free.

The trophy was awarded by ADO legend Lex Schoenmaker. After the presentation the players enjoyed celebrating with the fans as they went to all corners of the ground. This was the club’s third cup victory, having previously won it in 2011/12 and 2012/13. ADO ladies = CUP FIGHTERS!

Financial catagory 2 for ADO

ADO Den Haag has been classified by the KNVB licensing committee as a Category 2 club, which means the financial status is ‘adequate’.

The KNVB (Dutch Football Association) this morning published the classification on the KNVB website. ADO at the beginning of this calendar year was temporary placed in category 1 with a safety net provision. This was because ADO for a short time could not submit a balanced budget to the license commission. The club was able to quickly turn this around and were placed straight back into category 2. ADO Den Haag will now remain in catagory 2. The license commission of the KNVB compiled the classification based on the half year results of 2015/2016

Cheer up a sick ADO fan with a card

Ed of got a message from fellow Den Haag supporter Louis Schenk over his severely ill 3-year boy Yoeri. Last year it was discovered that he had a tumor in his head and again last week was told that there is again a tumor or blood clot and so now the chemo therapy treatment is delayed.

The question in that post was what could be done in terms of moral support for the kid, himself, and of course for his mother Nikita.

Therefore on behalf of Louis and Nikita, please send a card to their dear little boy Yoeri whom they love dearly, to wish him a speedy and full recovery.

The address is:

ADO ladies lose final game of league season

On Friday evening the ADO ladies played their final game of the league season. They hosted Telstar in what turned out to be a dire game of football.

The first half was terrible. Not one single shot on target from either side. Telstar having nothing to play for and ADO ladies having one eye on next weeks cup final probably had something to do with this.

The second half was slightly better, well at least there were signs of threats on goal and in the fifty eighth minute ADO got more than a sight. Lineth Beerensteyn was released into space down theShe out paced her marker, cut inside and drilled the ball in hard and low to the far corner. A great finish, 1-0.

The Visitors did not look like getting back into the game at all. Then in a five minute burst they went from one goal down to being 1-2 up. In the seventy ninth minute Babiche Roof reacted to a defensive failure and shot passed Jennifer Vreugdenhil in the ADO goal, 1-1.

Just five minutes later Telstar scored the decisive goal. Katja Snoeijs firing home to give Telstar all three points. A sad ending to ADO’s league season. Final figures not great for ADO ladies. Ten wins, four draws and ten defeats, ending in fourth place.

Next week ADO ladies will play Ajax in the ladies cup final. Tickets are available, so get yours now.
