ADO ladies win friendly with ease

On Tuesday afternoon, a mix of ADO ladies and their young team took on a selection from CTO Amsterdam / Eindhoven and players from the Dutch under 19 team.

Considering this was a friendly, the first half hour was played at a great tempo. Lots of action, rare in these type of games. Marthe van Erk had a great game, scoring a hat-trick. The first coming in the fourteenth minute from the penalty spot, 1-0.

ADO were dominant and rarely did the visitors get anywhere near the ADO goal. The game eventually slowed down, ADO still creating chances, but the defenders were doing well to block what ADO fired at them. With five minutes remaining, ADO let their concentration lapse, long enough for  Silvie van der Plas to make it 1-1.

The second half was same as the end of the first, slow and not much aggression being shown. That all changed in the sixty second minute when ADO scored, again from van Erk, 2-1. This ignited the game back to life.

In the sixty eighth minute van Erk claimed her hat-trick. In a one on one with the keeper, she kept her cool and easily slotted the ball home, 3-1. This was all looking so easy for ADO. Yet in the eighty second minute ADO conceded a soft goal. A long range shot by Vera at Westeind, not hit with any power, went through Isa Pothof into the net, 3-2.

The game got a bit tense, but in the final seconds ADO were awarded a penalty. Nance van der Meer took the kick, sadly ball didn’t hit back of the net. The ball came back out, and in a melee of shots and blocks, Eline Koster managed to get the ball across the line, 4-2.
