First step to a healthy ADO Den Haag solved the liquidity issue for this season
During the past five weeks, UVS and ADO Den Haag using Knüppe and Van der Have (appointed by the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal) held consultations in order to break the deadlock. Last week Jiahua East Holdings (Group) Co. Ltd., the majority shareholder of UVS, was also involved.
This has resulted in the payment of the promised investment by UVS totaling almost € 2.5 million. More specifically, ADO Den Haag has now received a payment of nearly € 2.0 million, also ADO Den Haag received a first payment of € 0.5 million on January 19th 2017. The formalities surrounding the payments are now handled.
Because these payments have been made, the liquidity problems for ADO Den Haag are solved for this season. Shareholders will be reached in the coming months to try to agree on their future cooperation, including the governance of ADO Den Haag.
Chairman of the Board of UVS Wang Hui, “UVS is convinced that cooperation with ADO Den Haag and all its stakeholders will result in a great future for ADO Den Haag and for everyone involved in the club, we can not wait. to take the next step in the process to create a healthy and stable football club in the long term.”
Vice general manager Winston Zheng Jiahua East Holdings: “As one of China’s leading enterprises and shareholder of UVS, Jiahua East Holdings has a strong financial position and is committed to UVS support in the process of making ADO Den Haag a leading club in Europe in the long term. We see ADO Den Haag as an important pawn in the cooperation between China and the Netherlands in the field of football. We have to put ADO Den Haag in the position of building a bridge between China and the Netherlands in the field of exchange of Sports and Culture.”
ADO Den Haag Managing Director Mattijs Manders: “We are relieved that UVS has fulfilled its obligations. Now we will discuss the future of ADO Den Haag. We are convinced that a balanced governance will work to the benefit of all stakeholders. Hopefully we can improve our team with reinforcements during these last days of the transfer season.”
Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ADO Den Haag Ben Knüppe: “Although the money has now arrived, there is still a lot of work to be done in terms of future plans, finances and governance before all the problems at ADO Den Haag are really over, but possible. Today we have made our first and most important step towards a healthy business.”
At this stage, no further comment will be given.
On Sunday ADO Den Haag will visit the current number two in the league, Ajax (14.30). A tough job for ADO Den Haag coach Zeljko Petrovic and his men. The game with Ajax is seen as a great challenge.
But first back to the last game against PEC Zwolle (1-2 defeat). The biggest loss was perhaps the injury to Gervane Kastaneer with an eye problem. Petrovic does not know yet how long he has lost Kastaneer for. “We must await the results from the hospital. Then we know how long we shall miss him. Sunday, Gervane will not be playing.”
Tuesday’s friendly, ADO Den Haag against Westlandia. This was to test Dion Malone and Aaron Meijers who were both out for a long time with injuries. Petrovic: “They played for 45 minutes after a long time out, it will take a while until they are fit to play. I feel like I can get Aaron back faster as Dion has been out longer, I am glad they are on the field. It is hoped that in the coming weeks they will slowly improve. That’s why we have on Monday also incorporated another friendly game against Roda JC. This is not only for Dion and Aaron, but also for the players we have on trial.”
That trial players are Abel Tamata, Guyon Fernandez, Jan Wuytens and Donny Gorter. Petrovic would like to add them all to his squad. “They train well this week. The problem is that they all have not being playing for a long time. Wuytens is the most fit as he has trained with young PSV. I hope they all stay at ADO Den Haag. They all want to play here. They do not come here for money, for both sides that is a win-win situation. It will take around 3 to 4 weeks to get those guys match fit. That’s annoying for us.”
Despite everything that goes against ADO Den Haag they hope to make something of the game against Ajax. “It will be a tough game, but as a sportsman you always want to get a result. Otherwise, you may as well stay at home. In every game you get chances. We have to make sure we play compact so that we may benefit on the counter attack. In a stadium with 50,000 people, it is a challenge for our players, I believe in our chances, but it’s hard as everyone knows.”.
On February 1, ADO Den Haag will be 112 years old and of course the club want to celebrate this event with everyone!
Right now the club can use all the support of the fans it can get, so what would be nicer than for two days later, on 3rd February, the match against Vitesse is played in front a full house?!
