ADO’s start to the new season announced.

ADO Den Haag will have their first field training on Monday 26th June. The location and time will be announced at a later date.

ADO play their first pre-season friendly on Saturday 1st July. It is a match against LVV Lugdunum from Leiden. The kick-off is at 14.30 (ticket sales follow). Lugdunum became champions of the third class this season and has thus been promoted to the second class.

Keep an eye on this website for the rest of the pre-season program and the exact location of the training camp.

During this pre-season, there will be no matches played at the usual pre-season home of HVV Laakkwartier. This because the main field (grass) is replaced by an artificial surface.

Tearful farewell for leaving ADO ladies

After the 1-2 defeat at home to FC Twente on Friday night, several of the ADO ladies and a member of staff were given a great farewell by the club and its supporters.

Emotions started running high during the second half when many substitutions were made, allowing the leaving players to get a standing ovation, and the leaving substitutes to play one more time in the green and yellow shirts of ADO.

After the final whistle, Karin Punt had the microphone and gave everyone a wonderful emotive farewell speech. This had the effect of causing a few to break into floods of tears as they thanked the clubs management and their loyal followers.

First up was trainer Gert-Jan Dupon, a man who had helped ADO to all of their trophy wins, a true inspiration to all involved at the club. Then the ladies started to go and collect their leaving gifts. Jennifer Vreugdenhil, Hélène Heemskerk, Jessie van Leeuwen, Michelle Vrieling, Lindsey Keizerweerd, Mijke Roelfsema and Isa Pothof.

Wishing them all much success with their future endeavors.

ADO ladies lose final game of the season

ADO ladies ended the current season with a 1-2 home defeat to FC Twente. A draw would have seen ADO finish in third place, but fourth is how it finished.

The first half was quiet and quite dull, the atmosphere was still, due to most people sitting on the beaches with 25 degrees of heat, which also meant the players were suffering, so the referee called for a water break midway through the first half.

The visitors took the lead in the fifteenth minute, when a long range free-kick taken by Siri Worm beat Jennifer Vreugdenhil from 25m out.

For the following fifteen minutes FC Twente were the team on top, forcing ADO to defend. Chances came and went, but ADO held out. Then ADO clicked into gear. ADO began to make chances, Lindsey Keizerweerd working well down the right wing. Sadly most of the crosses were being over hit and out of play.

The second half saw FC Twente dominate for a while, but made that domination count, as former ADO star Renate Jansen scored in the fifty sixth minute, to make it 0-2.

ADO then moved up a gear. Keizerweerd went close to pulling a goal back when she was one on one against ADO’s future keeper Barbara Lorsheyd, Lorsheyd being the winner blocking well.

Lorsheyd was replaced by Jade Adan, the substitute pulled of a series of great saves to keep ADO at bay as the hosts piled on the pressure.

ADO got a goal they deserved in the eighty second minute. Marthe van Erk was played into the penalty area, kept her nerve and calmly slotted the ball home, 1-2.

The game fizzled out as many substitutions were made to give departing players the chance to make a final appearance or to say farewell to the fans. Second half was much better than the first as a spectacle, but now that is it, ADO’s season is now over.

Attendance: 329

ADO ladies last game of the season this Friday

ADO ladies play their final game of the current season against FC Twente. A tough game to end on.

ADO ladies were unlucky to lose at newly crowned league champions Ajax last week, so should be going into this game with confidence. Form ADO goalkeeper Barbara Lorsheyd should be in goal for the visitors and next season she will be back in goal for our ladies once again.

ADO ladies lose at Ajax

Despite a solid, strong performance away at Ajax, ADO ladies could not deny the Amsterdam side from becoming the league champions for the first time.

The home side took the lead in the twelfth minute, as they broke down the left wing, a cross to the far post was headed home by  Inessa Kaagman, 1-0.

After going behind the ADO players picked up the challenge and worked hard to get back on level terms, both Michelle Vrieling and Sharona Tieleman forcing the Ajax keeper into good saves.

In the added minute of the first half ADO got the goal their play deserved. A pass by Nance van der Meer brilliantly found Nadine Noordam, she remained calm and placed the ball in the back of the net.

The second half saw ADO again pushing forward, creating chances, yet Ajax were very capable of striking themselves, forcing ADO keeper Jennifer Vreugdenhil into some great saves.

The ADO keeper had to be substituted die to injury in the eighty fourth minute by Isa Pothof. Pothof also was forced to make some fine saves as the clock counted down. Yet heartbreak for ADO as in the final minute of the game, Marjolijn van de Bighelaar hit the winner for Ajax, a goal that sealed their championship title.

ADO continues with Basic-Fit and says goodbye to Kyocera

From next season, the name of the new main sponsor is Cars Jeans and will be on the front of the ADO Den Haag shirts and will be the name of the stadium later. The current main sponsor, Basic-Fit, will still be closely involved in ADO this coming season. The fitness center gets its name on the back of the match day shirts.

General Director of ADO, Mattijs Manders: “Basic-Fit has made a significant contribution to the growth of ADO Den Haag in the last six seasons. We are very grateful to them for their contribution to ADO Den Haag. We are pleased that we are not saying goodbye. We continue to take care of each other and to continue the cooperation. We can be proud of such a loyal and sporting partner as Basic-Fit.”

John Verhouden, Sales & Marketing Manager at Basic-Fit, understands that ADO Den Haag will continue with their new main sponsor Cars Jeans in the next season. “It is a unique opportunity for ADO Den Haag, so we are happy to accommodate the new sponsor. Basic-Fit is a warm heart for ADO and we are therefore pleased that we can continue to support the club as a back sponsor. We are pleased with the cooperation and move forward.”

Within the foreseeable future, Kyocera’s name will disappear after seven seasons at the stadium. Since 2011, the 48 meter long led light advertising with the stadium name on the roof has been visible from far away. At the end of 2010, KYOCERA Document Solutions Nederland and ADO Den Haag signed an agreement. Manders looks back on a beautiful period. “Seven years is quite a long time. By having such a strong name as Kyocera at the stadium, we have achieved many ambitions. The highlight is undoubtedly the solar panel roof at the stadium that Kyocera has produced and delivered. The 2,900 solar panels Deliver 50% of ADO’s annual power consumption. I would like to thank Kyocera for a successful period.”

Etienne Hendriks, managing director of KYOCERA Document Solutions Netherlands: “With pain in my heart, I say goodbye to the Kyocera Stadium. It will be strange to me to drive to the Prince Claus Plein and to see another name at our stadium. We have been working very well with ADO Den Haag for many years and have considered the stadium as our second home. We are pleased for ADO Den Haag and welcome a new name, we wish them all the best.”

Cars Jeans the new main sponsor of ADO Den Haag

ADO Den Haag has found a new main sponsor in Cars Jeans for the next three seasons. The clothing brand will be on the front of the match day shirts for the foreseeable future, the stadium will be renamed Cars Jeans Stadium.

Mike Havenaar of ADO Den Haag

General Director of ADO, Mattijs Manders, about the new main sponsor: “We are very pleased that a well-known clothing brand like Cars Jeans wants to join our club. At the first meeting, both parties had a good feeling. With Cars Jeans, ADO can take important steps in the next three years towards a sporty and financially healthy future. With Cars Jeans as a new sponsor, ADO will set a new standard with a partnership that is unmatched for us, and is for a long period of time. We can be very proud of this in all respects, because of the deal, Cars Jeans has a lot of confidence in ADO Den Haag. We will also do everything we can for Cars Jeans, to give a big brand awareness in our region, and beyond.”

Cars Jeans was founded in 1982 in Amsterdam. It is a Dutch company that sells clothing not only in the Netherlands but also in Belgium and Germany. Cars Jeans is a middle of the road brand. The company is not unfamiliar with football sponsorship, because in the 90’s, Cars Jeans had advertisement boards across the fields in various Dutch stadiums at national and international matches, including Dutch international games.

Cees van Bueren and Guido Winkeler from Cars Jeans: “From the first meeting, the feeling was very good with the people of ADO Den Haag. We were looking for a club in the Randstad region. In ADO Den Haag we have found a club that fits perfectly with our brand. We look forward to a successful collaboration over the next three seasons.”
