With the new season coming up, plus the 35th anniversary of the adopted city song of “O,O, Den Haag,” this is a good time to give the new football fans of ADO Den Haag a chance to learn the song and join in.
This song is sung at every ADO game and sounds great echoing around the confines of the Kyocera stadium. Now your homework before the season starts is to learn this and be ready to sing your heart out. Good luck.
In bright sunshine and under a blue sky, the squad of ADO Den Haag entered onto the pitch of the Kyocera stadium to start their first full training session. A few hundred supporters had made their way to welcome the players to what is a special day in the club’s calendar.
Despite all the negative press surrounding the club of late, the atmosphere was great, families soaking up the sunshine and applauding the players each time they jogged in front of the Midden Noord.
Next on the club’s agenda is the first pre-season friendly to be played in Leiden against LVV Lugdunum. Kick-off 14:30. Address is. Oegstgeesterweg 2, 2334 BZ Leiden. Tickets available at the ground on the day.
ADO Den Haag say goodbye to Dion Malone and Achraf El Mahdioui. Malone has joined Qabala FK from Azerbaijan for the next two years. El Mahdioui signed a multi annual contract with AS Trencin who were Slovak champions in 2015 and 2016 and where former FC Den Haag player Tscheu La Ling is the club owner.
Malone arrived from Almere City in 2012. He soon became a permanent asset at ADO. He was primarily the right back. Especially last season, the Surinamer also played in the midfield. Malone was injured last year with a groin injury. However, in February he recovered strongly. Partly due to his good performances, ADO The remained in the Eredivisie. Malone played a total of 129 matches in ADO’s shirt and scored five goals. His contract with ADO ended this summer.
El Mahdioui was only for one season at ADO. The midfielder joined from Ajax in the summer of 2016. The 21-year-old Amsterdammer never managed to make himself stand out in the ADO squad. Thirteen times El Mahdioui participated in an Eredivisie game, of which eight were as a starting player. He had a contract for two seasons.
Manager of Football Affairs at ADO Den Haag, Jeffrey van As said about the departure of Malone. ” I’m very sorry for ADO that Dion will pursue his career at Qabala. Dion has been of great value to ADO in his five seasons, especially in recent months, he has proven to be one of the team’s pillars. We thank Dion for his commitment and wish him a lot of luck in Azerbaijan.”
Van As about El Mahdioui. “Achraf is undoubtedly an excellent player, but he could never fully fit into the ADO team last season. Achraf is now able to further develop at Trencin, a beautiful club playing European football and regularly participating for trophies. Also want to thank Achraf for the past season.”
