It has been in the air for a while, and now it has finally been successful. Abdenasser El Khayati will be an ADO Den Haag player for the next three years. On Wednesday he put his signature on a new contract. This means that ADO Den Haag now has the desired strengthening in the center.
The 28-year-old El Khayati joined ADO Den Haag after the winter break as relatively unknown entity. He was loaned for half a year from Queens Park Rangers. It did not take long before the Rotterdammer conquered the hearts of the public. El Khayati, with his creative game and five goals in twelve games, played an important part in the amazing turn-a-round that saw ADO Den Haag ending up in eleventh place.
Last year, El Khayati returned to Queens Park Rangers, but ADO Den Haag wanted to keep him. That has now been done, and that is all that matters to Manager of Football Affairs Jeffrey van As. “Nasser managed to raise the level of the team last season, he is technically very skillful, works hard and, as an attacking midfielder, has an eye for goal. Exactly the type of player we were looking for. Everyone in the club was charmed by him, So we’ve done everything we can to get him back to the Cars Jeans Stadium. We look forward to three great years.”
“Finally, I can pull on the green-yellow shirt again,” says El Khayati. “I have experienced a great half-year at ADO Den Haag, I really bonded with all the players, staff and fans, so it was always my intention to stay here, but I was still owned by Queens Park Rangers. Fortunately, the clubs have come to an agreement. That I have signed for three years indicates that I really want to build something here. We can build some great things at ADO Den Haag in the coming years.”
