Dennis v/d Heijden sold to Almere City

ADO Den Haag said goodbye to Dennis van der Heijden. The 20-year-old attacker has been taken on by Almere City and signs for one season with an option for another year.

Van der Heijden’s first goal in the friendly against S.J.C. Noordwijk

Van der Heijden made his name in the Netherlands by a legendary appearance in 2016 against Excelsior. The striker scored two goals almost immediately after his debut as a substitute, which won the game for ADO against the Rotterdammers. It earned him a contract at ADO Den Haag and a place in the squad of the Dutch youth squad. Last season, Van der Heijden played on loan at FC Volendam. He played a total to 25 times in the first team in which he scored twice.

Everyone at ADO Den Haag wish Dennis much success in his future.

A year later, the goalkeeper played ten times in goal. Last season, Groothuizen was loaned out to Denmark side Nordsjælland. In the highest division in Danish football, he played twelve matches. Groothuizen has also played 16 times for Holland at various youth levels.

“In addition to Robert Zwinkels and Tim Coremans we would like to add another keeper to the squad,” says Manager Jeffrey van As. “In addition, we caught sight of Indy, a talented young man with a lot of potential. He is not an international for nothing, and in the Danish league he has been outstanding in the last season. So including the youth side we have five good keepers, just as we wanted.”
