ADO suffer heavy defeat to Turkish league leaders

On Friday afternoon, the last full day of their Winter training camp in Belek, Turkey, ADO Den Haag played a friendly against Istanbul Basaksehir, the team currently leading the Turkish league.

ADO started well but went behind to a penalty after a foul by ADO keeper Robert Zwinkels after fourteen minutes, scored by Adebayor, 1-0.Nasser El Khayati was getting chances in front of goal, but the forward couldn’t find the net. ADO went two goals behind in the twenty ninth minute, a free-kick scored by Kahveci, 2-0. That is how the score remained after the first forty five minutes.

The second half was ten minutes old when Özmert made it 3-0 to Basaksehir. ADO had another good chance fall to El Khayati, just not his day in front of goal. In the seventy fifth minute ADO fell further behind, Napoleoni getting the goal, 4-0 and that was how the game ended

So the end of the training break didn’t go well for ADO. The players and staff return home tomorrow. They will return to league action on Saturday 20th January when they host VVV Venlo in the Cars Jeans stadium, kick-off 19:45.
