On Wednesday ADO played their penultimate friendly against second division side FC Volendam. Could it be the night that ADO actually kept a clean sheet? The answer to that was no! ADO won the game 2-1. ADO took the lead in the sixth minute thanks to a goal by Poepon. The first half ADO looked more menacing than in the previous games of this pre-season. The second half saw ADO increase their lead thanks to a cheeky chipped goal by Visser in the fifty sixth minute; all was looking good for ADO.
ADO then had yet another lapse of concentration allowing Volendam to sneak an undeserved goal. A goal scored by Michiel Kramer after seventy six minutes, a goal that again showed ADO’s frailties at the back.
For the 850 spectators, it was a decent enough game to watch despite the terrible wet conditions. I think that with the next game being against real top class opposition, the fans will be hoping the defence shows a better understanding than they have done of late, or there could be a thrashing on the cards next!
