HVV Laakkwartier 1 v 9 ADO Den Haag
On Saturday afternoon ADO Den Haag opened their pre-season campaign with their traditional opener away to HVV Laakkwartier. Despite this fixture clashing with the Beatstad event in the city centre a good sized crowd turned up to watch the team and its new players put through its first test.
ADO played each half of the game with a completely different eleven, giving all the players a run out.
Jens Toornstra has the honour of scoring ADO’s first goal of the new football season, netting after five minutes.
At times ADO played some quick passing football, obviously been watch Spain during the Euro’s. At other times ADO were slow and lost out on possession too easily. ADO scored three more times in the first half with new boys Kevin Jansen and Rydell Poepon finding the net along with Charlton Vicento.
With a new team on the pitch ADO looked a little more assertive in their approach. HVV got a surprise goal from a well taken free kick taken by Tim Bridge. After this ADO moved up a gear and scored five unanswered goals thanks to Kevin Tano, Two from Danny Holla, Nadir Ciftei and Tjaronn Chery. The goal by Ciftei was the pick of the goals, stunning strike from the youngster.
After the final whistle the players happily signed autographs and posed for photographs with fans, making it a very special day for the children who got the chance to meet their heroes.
