Sunday saw ADO take on Roda JC in the Kyocera stadium in a huge relegation battle. ADO were desperate for the three points as were the visitors, both clubs in danger of falling from the top division. Were ADO under pressure? If they felt it, they didn’t show it as they totally dominated the game from start to finish.
ADO were a goal up inside the first minute. Edouard Duplan started the move inside his own half, his pass to Dion Malone was immediately laid into the path of Sheraldo Becker, the striker struck hard and low into the bottom of the far corner. A dream start, 1-0.
The game ebbed and flowed, no real chances created, but there was some fierce tackling across the midfield to spice the game up even more.
After twenty eight minutes ADO doubled their lead. A cross into the area was handled by former ADO player Chris Kum, the referee pointed to the spot. Nasser El Khayati placed the ball on the spot. His shot easily beating Benjamin van Leer, having sent him the wrong way, 2-0.
The second half was less pleasing to the eye, the visitors heads had dropped completely. ADO had space to race down the wings, sending several dangerous crosses in to the penalty box. ADO keeper Robert Zwinkels was called upon just the once, punching away a well hit free-kick by Mitchell Paulissen.
The third ADO goal came in the sixty second minute. A clearance from the Roda box fell to Malone whose long range first time strike was too hard for the keeper to handle, It was then Mike Havenaar pounced for the perfect poachers goal, 3-0.
The stadium was rocking, the fans bouncing and singing their heads off. Then it got even better for ADO as they struck for a fourth time. Eighty seven minutes in and Randy Wolters crossed a perfect ball in towards the penalty spot. Guyon Fernandez some how stretched and twisted his body to get his head on the ball and glance it into the far corner, 4-0. Wolters went crazy, pumping his body and celebrating, muscles flexed with the fans on the Midden Noord.
It was almost the perfect day for ADO, but in the final minute Mohamed El Makrini found himself with time on the edge of the ADO area, his shot went in the bottom far corner, 4-1.
The whistle blew and the stadium erupted. The players dancing in front of the fans. A great result against relegation rivals. Four goals for ADO makes a big difference as now they do not have the worst goal difference, this could be vital at the end of the season.
