ADO lost away at Heracles on Sunday afternoon. In all honesty ADO got what they deserved from the game, nothing. It seems knowing they were now safe from relegation they relaxed. Heracles were up for the match right from the kick-off.
In the fourth minute Samuel Armenteros gave the first warning as his shot rebounded off the post. A minute later the hosts took the lead. Reuven Niemeijer controlled the ball from a cross brilliantly on his chest, he instantly swiveled and volleyed the ball into the roof of the net, giving Robert Zwinkels no chance to save it, amazing strike, 1-0.
In the twelfth minute the home side doubled their lead. Niemeijer found space and time to turn inside the ADO penalty area, striking the ball low into the far corner and with no ADO defender near him to block the attempt, 2-0.
The truth was Heracles had the fight in them, they one every fifty-fifty challenge, were quicker to the lose balls and worked hard. ADO’s passing was terrible at best. Not until the thirty first minute did ADO get a sight of goal. Danny Bakker hitting a screamer from 23m which was going just under the crossbar, only an acrobatic save by Renze Fij kept the scoreline the same.
The second half was much the same as the first, Heracles in control. ADO were getting crosses into the area, but nobody was their to add the finishing touch. ADO almost went further behind when a header from Armenteros hit the base of the post.
Seventy one minutes played and some great individual play by Armenteros, saw him race in on goal goal, twisting and turning through ADO’s weak defensive line before slamming the ball home, 3-0.
With minutes remaining, the home fans fired streamers onto the field of play twice. This eventually saw an extra eight minutes of added time. Four minutes into that time Donny Gorter went close for ADO, his effort just passing the frame of the goal.
Ninety six minutes and Heracles wrapped up the game. Thomas Bruns collecting the ball just inside the ADO box, he curled his shot low into the far corner past a very frustrated Zwinkels, who had been given no protection at all during the match, 4-0.
