SVV Scheveningen v ADO

On Wednesday evening ADO Den Haag played their third pre-season friendly at SVV Scheveningen. Under warm sunshine and in front of a good sized crowd, ADO started the game at a decent tempo. Early on they pushed the hosts back towards their own penalty area.

The Scheveningen keeper was called into action on a couple of occasions to prevent an early goal. Mike Havenaar was ADO’s target man as crosses swung in from both flanks. In the fifteenth minute ADO broke the deadlock. Danny Bakker got the ball around 25m from goal, he didn’t strike the ball well, but it found the back of the net, 0-1

The last thirty minutes of the half was void of any real excitement, there were a few crunching tackles, but no goal mouth action to  speak of.

The second half did not make for good viewing either. This was mainly due to both sides making many substitutions. The crowd were bored and talking amongst themselves mostly. Some of the younger squad members showed some promise, looking comfortable on the ball.

ADO managed a second goal in the eighty forth minute. Gervane Kastaneer tapping the ball over the line following a low cross from Mohamed Haddachi on the left, 0-2.

The game died a slow death and thankfully despite the many changes the referee added no extra time. The highlight of the evening for most was after the final whistle when fans got to meet the players and have the now obligatory selfie taken with them.
