After a run of three victories ADO ladies faced a tough trip away at Telstar: ADO seeking revenge for a 0-1 home defeat earlier in the season, when Telstar scored in the last minute of injury time.
This game marked a landmark moment for manager Sarina Wiegman, this was her 175th game in charge. Unfortunately she did not get the result she wanted.
The first half was not the most of exciting games. ADO were trying to play fast flowing football and the hosts dealt with it with crunching tackles in an effort to put the ADO ladies off their game, Lineth Beerensteyn being a main target aswel as Lisanne Grimberg. By the end of the game four yellow cards were shown, all to Telstar players.
The only real highlight of the first half was in the forty third minute. Beerensteyn raced down the left wing, leaving Telstar captai Dyanne Bito in her wake, as she entered the penalty area Bito lunged in desperation as felled the ADO winger, referee had no hesitation in awarding a penalty. Grimberg took the responsibility and placed the perfect strike into the net, 0-1.
The second half was a better spectacle for the supporters to watch. Most of the half was a battle in the midfield, yet both sides managed break aways which threatened the goal. Beerensteyn had two great chances to increase the lead, but it wasn’t her night in front of goal, the Telstar keeper Melissa van der Wiel making some good saves. Sitting behind the goal I could and feel the frustration and anger at herself as she shouted and kicked out at the advertising boards, just one of those nights.
ADO keeper Barbara Lorsheyd had mostly a quiet time of it, yet she was always alert to events unfolding in front of her, twice being forced to make good saves, the best was a close range effort from Priscilla de Vos which looked goal bound.
As the ninety minutes were reach, the fourth official showed there was to be an extra three added minutes. Yet again this season ADO ladies could not hold out in the injury time period. A cross saw Stefanie van der Gragt rise high and head the ball home, 1-1.
The final whistle blew and it was so close to ADO making it four clean sheets in a row. Yet four games undefeated it a good run of form. Next up two tough games that will really test the team. At home to FC Twente before going away to Ajax.
